Aus Hemd mach Kleid!

Manchmal wächst man auch als erwachsener Mensch aus hübschen Kleidungsstücken heraus *hüstel*
So geschehen mit mir und diesem hübschen Hemd:

Sometimes even grown-ups outgrow clothes *cough*
…in this specific case, that grown-up was me and the item was this pretty shirt:

Viel zu hübsch und gut erhalten um es zu entsorgen – und auch immernoch zu sehr gemocht, um es weiterzugeben… und so hat es nun seine neue Bestimmung gefunden und wird ab sofort von der kleineren Dame dieses Hauses getragen.

Much to pretty and still good to be thrown out – and much too beloved to be given away….it has found a new purpose and as of now will be worn by the young madame.

Das war definitiv das schnellste recycling-Projekt meines Näh-Lebens!

This was definitely the quickest recycling project of my sewing life!

Es ist perfekt für den Sommer! Und glücklicherweise trägt Madame es unglaublich gerne.

and luckily the little lady likes it a lot.

Sicherlich hätte man es noch etwas kürzen können – ich habe es von der Länge her gelassen, wie es war. So musste ich unten nicht säumen und das Kleid kann noch eine Weile mitwachsen.

I could have shortened it a bit, but decided to leave it the length it was.
That way I got around having to hem it, plus: she can grow into it.

Ich bin ganz begeistert und finde es so zuckersüß, dass das sicher nicht das letzte Hemd gewesen sein wird, dem dieses neue Leben als Kleid bevorsteht.

I’m absolutely in love with this outfit – so much, in fact, that I’m sure this will not have been the last of my/my husband’s shirts that will come to have a second life as a dress.
